The author introduces the reader to the issues of the linguistic image of the world, the history and typology of artificial languages, and finally presents an empirical study. The presented analysis indicates that the contrast between natural and artificial languages is fading. Among the latter, a special case is Esperanto, which can undoubtedly be treated as natural language within the framework of Lublin Ethnolinguistic School. In the last part of the book, the author undertakes a description of the linguistic image of the world of Esperantists and demonstrates the existence of deeply rooted cultural and linguistic stereotypes in this community. At the same time, she postulates taking into account a transfer from other languages known to the respondents as well as external cultural influences in all studies of artificial languages within the Lublin Ethnolinguistic paradigm.
