The discussion leads to different major conclusions. Turkish has clear but rather complex morphotactics. Morphemes added to a stem can con- vert the word from a nominal to a verbal structure or vice-versa, or can create adverbial constructs as above. The surface realizations of morphological constructions are constrained and modi ed by a number of morphophonemic rules.
