“Kohistyō̃ (phonemically, /kohis'tyõ:/), is a dialect of the Dardic language family, spoken in the Kohistan region of the Indus River basin in an area stretching from the left bank valley of Pālas northward to that of Jalkoṭ. It appears quite closely related to Shina; and indeed, the dialects of this region are identified by T. GRAHAME BAILEY as belonging to Shina¹⁾.”
