Baltimore: Fielding Lucas Jr., 1847. — 251 s.Having lately determined to publish a Collectíon of Phrases and Dialogues in Spanish and English, I have thought it useful to prefix a Synopsis of Spanish Grammar, for the benefit of those, who, unable to devote much time to the subject, desire to obtaín only a general idea of the language. The sketch, which I now have the honour to present to the American public, is the result of some years experience in teaching my native language ; and although it may, perhaps, seem wanting in detail, is in accordance both with the end proposed, and the rapíd progress of the times in all popular branches of learning. It has met the approbation of many of my intelligent friends, and will, I hope, merit also that of the public. In the small space of fourteen short lessons, I have given a condensed, but clear and intelligible idea of the language, including the rules of pronunciation, reading and construction. Such, at least, has been the end in view: the public must judge whether or not it is attained.
