Written primarily for the non-Russian speaking student, this course is designed to demonstrate how simple and interesting Russian studies can be. Performance objectives are presented in two categories: language and culture. After the statement of each language objective, letters indicate the language skills to which the objective is directed. The lettering code for these skills is: listening (L), speaking (S), reading (R), and writing (W). Topics for independent study include: geography, history, the Communist Party, literatures, music, sports, education, youth, family, delinquency, religion, humor, arts, voting, secret police, labor camps, and military and science. This course may be taken for credit in language or social studies. Sample evaluation materials are included.
