Article. — Studia Etymologica Cracoviensia — 2014. — Vol. 19. — S. 95-115. In this German article, Corinna Lebscher of Berlin presents the semantic development of some Turkic lexical borrowings into Bulgarian, and some neighbouring languages (Rumanian, Greek, Albanian and Serbian). In the study, lexicographic data is used combined with sociolinguistic interviews, which shows that the words have developed in traditional customs, in the history and slang, producing fairly complex loanword histories for the studied words, and where the borrowed words have developed rather independently semantically from their originally borrowed meanings.
