As a result of the increasing affluence of modern society in many parts of the world, and the technological advances of recent years, equipment for heating, ventilation and sanitary installations has improved to an extent which could scarcely have been previously thought possible. In line with quantitative demands, the importance of this special field has increased, resulting in an acceleration in scientific research, the results of which are continuously influencing the quality and performance of newly developed systems. The many types and uses of heating, ventilation and sanitary installations have caused many new terms with specific meanings to be created for this special field. Through analysis of the foreign literature it became apparent that a dictionary containing such terms in the more important world languages would be of great importance to all who are concerned with this subject.
