Lemke Andreas. The Old English Translation of Bede's Historia Ecclesiastica Gentis Anglorum in its Historical and Cultural Context (Appendices)
Göttingen: Universitätsverlag Göttingen (Göttinger Schriften zur Englischen Philologie Band 8), 2015. — 86 p.
Andreas Lemke presents us with a unique compendium of interdisciplinary approaches to the Old English translation (OEHE) of the Historia Ecclesiastica Gentis Anglorum (HE) in a way that will fascinate scholars of Literature, Language, Philology and History. Incorporating the appendices into the printed version would have resulted in a considerably longer book. For that reason, the appendices are only available as a separate document in PDF format. Appendices are as follows:
Appendix I: The Divergence of HE III.16-17 in the OEHE Manuscripts;
Appendix II: The Scratched Glosses in London, BL, MS Cotton Tiberius C.II in Relation to the OEHE and OE Glosses and Glossaries;
Appendix III: The OE Scratched Glosses in London, BL, MS Cotton Tiberius C.II and Their Textual Parallels/Precedents in OE Glosses/Glossaries;
Appendix IV: The Ink Glosses in London, BL, MS Cotton Tiberius C.II;
Appendix V: Old English gentes Names in the OEHE together with Their Latin Equivalents in the HE and Their Purported Significance;
Appendix VI: Occurrences of Old English gentes Names in the OEHE without Corresponding Terms in the HE.
