The objective of ESCAPE-13 is to highlight the use of computers and information technology tools on five specific themes: Process Design, Process Control and Dynamics, Modelling, Simulation and Optimisation, Applications in Pulp and Paper Industry, Applications in Biotechnology. The main theme for ESCAPE-13 is Expanding Application Field of CAPE Methods and Tools. It means extending CAPE approach, mainly used in chemical industry, into different sectors of process industry and promoting CAPE applications aiming at generation of new businesses and technologies. This book includes 190 papers selected from 391 submitted abstracts. All papers have been reviewed by 33 members of the international scientific committee. The selection process involved review of abstracts, manuscripts and final acceptance of the revised manuscripts. We are very grateful to the members of international scientific committee for their comments and recommendations. This book is the fourth ESCAPE Symposium Proceedings included in the series on Computer Aided Chemical Engineering. We hope that, as the previous Proceedings, it will contribute to the progress in computer aided process and product engineering.Keynote Paper
